Call :  
     
Description :   Sedentary bird quite close to L. collurio. Head and nape are grey. Wings are rufous, marked with black streaks and with a white patch. Tail is brown and narrow. There is white above the black eye stripe, unlike L. collurio where gery and black are directly next to each other.  
     
Habitat :   Not very common bird. Inhabits savannas. Found in the Tanganyika Moero and in the West of the province.  
     
Behaviour :   Behaviour similar to that of other shrikes but hunt from a lookout post to the ground is done from more wooded areas. 
     
Diet :   Insectivorous. 
     
Life history :   Nidification takes place in the beginning of the rainy season.
