Description :   Differs from its cousin Q. erythrops by its pinkish face and its black facial mask. Bill is red. In non-breeding plumage they are very similar.  
     
Habitat :   Quite common in Katanga, it can be seen in flocks of hundreds of individuals. In Eastern African countries, tens of thousands of individuals can be seen together.

Diet :   Seeds. 
     
Life history :   Nest is a ball of grass with a lateral entrance. It is hung on many materials. Nidification takes place during the rainy season.
