Call :  
     
Description :   Small mouse. Length: 10 cm (with a tail of 4,5 cm); weight: 10 g. Pelage is grey-brown above and greyish below. Tail is scaled.  
     
Habitat :   Grassland and savannah woodland. 
     
Behaviour :   Nocturnal and solitary. Lives singly, in couples or in small family groups. Shelters in burrows that it digs itself, in burrows dug by other animals, under dead vegetation or under rocks. 
     
Diet :   Seeds and insects. 
     
Life history :   After a gestation period of about 19 days, females give birth to a litter of 1 to 8 young (usually 5). They are weaned after 17 days.
